Dr. Dudley McKenna is an educational leader dedicated to student-centered, data-driven school improvement. She currently serves as the principal of Camargo Elementary School in Montgomery County, Kentucky, where she leads with a strong commitment to academic excellence, collaborative culture, and meaningful family and community partnerships.
Dr. McKenna’s leadership is grounded in servant and transformational leadership practices, with a clear focus on improving student achievement through high-quality instruction, vertical planning, and effective Professional Learning Communities (PLCs). Under her leadership, Camargo Elementary has implemented intentional structures such as student-led data notebooks, Learning Launch and Learning Lift conferences, schoolwide Profile of a Learner competencies, and collaborative instructional planning. As a result of these systems and structures, Camargo Elementary has experienced measurable gains in student growth, reflecting a shared commitment to continuous improvement and instructional excellence.
She holds an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and is deeply invested in continuous improvement, instructional leadership, and developing future leaders. Dr. McKenna is an active member of professional organizations including the Kentucky Association of School Administrators (KASA) and Kentucky Women in Educational Leadership (KWEL), where she both receives and provides mentorship.
Beyond the school walls, Dr. McKenna is known for fostering a welcoming, inclusive school culture that values strong relationships with families, staff, and the broader community. She believes that when schools prioritize people, purpose, and progress, students thrive.
